Meet Your Instructor

Cassie Leyva

I began my yoga and mindfulness journey at the age of sixteen when I joined my first yoga class. I was desperate to gain a sense of peace and to gain more control over what my future path would be. Yoga helped me through the most challenging times of my life during my late teens and all through early adulthood. Later, I researched and experimented the impacts mindfulness and yoga had on one's body, mind and spirit. Through yoga retreats, several books, and many hours of yoga teacher training, I discovered a world in which love and acceptance for my human experience and continual personal progression could coexist.

I have learned that a key step to finding joy in the human experience is learning to calm your inner turbulence. The level of inner turbulence you are experiencing represents your ability or inability to turn off your reactional self and turn on your present and aware self. When calming your inner turbulence is achieved, you too can find a path forward and discover a more whole version of yourself.

“I was very skeptical at first of the whole “mindfulness” part of the class. I came just for the yoga. However, I was pleasantly surprised how that “mindfulness” aspect quickly became the very thing I was missing in my life. I really appreciated the combination of movement and mindfulness. I learned not only how to relax my body, but mind as well. I walked away feeling like I could take on life’s challenges with more confidence.”

“I about mindfulness and journaling. It was good to get the bad thoughts out on paper. It felt like a good release and made me feel less guilt for having them. I realized most of the bad could also be turned into positive outcomes & reflections.”

“As a new mom, I knew that my nervous system and mental health needed help in order to take better care of my kids and spouses emotional needs. Once I took mindfulness, yoga and breathwork more seriously I noticed a wight lifted off of my shoulders and I felt like I was finally able to enjoy and embrace each moment of motherhood instead of always focusing on the little imperfections and letting them get to me.”
